Barenaked Ladies short a lady

I spent most of my youth and early tens in Scarborough and I remember when the Bare-naked Ladies were banned from playing City Hall, thanks to the Mayor Barbara Hall at the time. Her dis-allowment had a huge impact on the career of the BNL methinks ... free publicity is hard to get anywhere, especially in Toronto. Front page news is beautiful.

Sadly, I must report that Steven Page has quit the band following his drug bust last year.

He will be ursuing a solo career.

He was quoted as saying: "These guys are my brothers. We've grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future,"

Having the fame they have and being world-renowned for their fun antics almost always fmily friendly it seems appropriate .... hurtful at the same time.

I hope, truly, that Steven gets past this and learns from it as he is an exceptionally talented person.

The band simply won't be the same.
