Nadya Suleman, a 33 year old has given birth to Octuplets recently. It is a story that has people divided, why we are is beyond me. I, personally, don't really see the issue of having a lot of children as long as you can AFFORD them.
On that note let's look at a few facts.
For a single mother, the cost of raising 14 children through age 17 ranges from $1.3 million to $2.7 million, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
She is unemployed.
Suleman has said she saved for the treatments by working double shifts and also used money from a disability award exceeding $165,000 that she received after an on-the-job back injury.
The benefits were discontinued last year.
She is unemployed.
- When asked how she thought her daughter, now a mother of 14, would cope this many children, Angela said, I really don't know. I'm really tired of taking care of those six. I need her to really think of what she's gonna do. How's she going to provide for all of these children?
- One reporter had a look in to the house, describing the interior of the home as filthy, with food on the walls.
- With regards to the $168,000 in disability benefits that Nadya was awarded from the state of California as the result of a work-related injury in 1999, Mom said that was a newsflash to her. I didn't hear that she received money from her insurance, she never told me. I've never seen any money not for a house payment or feeding the kids. In vitro fertilization treatments typically can cost about $12,000 each and Nadya has had seven. (source: About the author: Jeffrey Jolson is Hollywood Today founding editor-in-chief. TMZ reports Dr. Phil leaving a huge mansion with her??? Looking for another quick buck?
How is she going to afford that? If the report is saying she is buying it...don't know yet.
SHE IS UNEMPLOYED.
She has also received death threats....now that I don't agree with at all, that's over the top people.
In today's economy, she decides to do this? Speaks volumes about the type of person she is.
I would love to say I hope she gets no help but then the children suffer, remember they are innocent. So let's hope that the state takes them away and gives them to real families who can really care for them and not someone obviously looking for handouts.
Like it or not, it's my opinion and I am entitled to it.
