These days, online dating is one of the most fast, simple and incredibly effective way(s) to meet someone. There are obviously pro's and con's to it, but it does have a certain flair....and addiction for some.
There are numerous websites online today that offer you the chance to meet people and maybe meet to get together and see if your respective online profiles were honest enough that you click, so to speak. It has it's usefulness in the fact that before you meet each other you can get to know one another from the get-go with a profile and picture, if that is to your liking you can move on to chatting on msn or something like that and eventually meeting. The downside is that you can run into the possibility that the person's profile was less than honest or they simply don't show up and you never hear from them again, but that is a very, very rare case.
Despite what people say, online dating websites are very safe and completely acceptable in today's society. If you are not interested in them anymore then you can simply stop talking to them.
Once upon a time, people only could meet each other at parties, bar's etc. This still exists still obviously, but since almost everyone uses the internet today, the possibilities are much larger and easier for all, especially the shy folks.
