Okay, really....I am getting so tired of all of the B.S out there regarding making money online.Usually I love these people who think it's a pipe dream....I do, it means more money for those of us who actually put in the time and effort to make money and work a few hours from home and reap the rewards.
Let's start right off the bat. Things to WATCH out for.
1. You will NOT become a millionaire overnight. I don't care what anyone tells you, unless you have about $200,00 grand to spend on advertising and have a really good grasp of how it works.
2. You will NOT get a million visitors to your website by lunch no matter what program you buy. Period.
3. You will NOT become rich by Friday.
4. You will NOT become FAMOUS in less than 5 minutes on youtube or any other social media outlet when just starting out. Maybe an hour and you better do something outrageous. But even then, think about it, your video will go viral but the vast majority will not click through to your website. Need proof...okay...remember the Britney Spears kid who cried for the world to leave Brit alone....you probably do, Hell it was used in the movie Meet the Spartans, very few people know the kids name. Point proven.
Moving on.
5. No serious marketer works from home in their underwear...well not everyday anyway ;)Alright my rant is almost over.
Wait, to illustrate my point of nay-sayers allow me to tell you a short tale. A real story that happened to me roughly five years ago.
Back then I was dating a woman who told me that no one was making any money online and that no one could make a living on the internet. It could not be done. She was quite adamant about her little speech. Less than an hour later she was online making purchases off of EBay!!! EBAY was started from a kitchen table and library internet access!
Oxy-Moron much, stress the Moron part.
You see folks, there is gold in them there Hills. If you know how to mine them.
Making money online is the equivalent to making money anywhere. Take real world examples if you will.
A fry cook makes minimum wage, maybe a little higher. Why? Simple there is no brain required to just be a fry cook. Now if that same fry cook continues to learn about cooking and different styles of cooking and fresh foods and .... you get the idea, what happens. He or she may become a Chef. The better a Chef is the richer they are. Case in point: Gordon Ramsay. 'Nuff said. When people start out (and I am just as guilty) we pull out our credit card and buy every promising program out there. We just know that we will be the next internet millionaire. A few months later we are broke, no further ahead and sadly the vast majority simply give up.
We must educate ourselves first. Find a mentor, search forums, ask questions etc.
Side note: No guru worth their salt will ever charge you for answering a question in a forum or in an email. They will however guide you, to a point. Then, they hope at least you will buy one of their products. An interesting point to make is that almost all forums have several BIG names lurking in them, you just don't know it. So go and learn.
Building friendships and trust is a million times harder than getting your reputation ruined. That happens in a heart beat and then you are finished.
You must do your due diligence and if anyone thinks that working from home is retarded or stupid, then simply remove them from your life. Your DAMN right I am serious.
How are you going to succeed when someone is constantly telling you you won't?
I don't care who the person or people are, if they are negative...get rid of 'em. You need positive people in your life for all aspects of your life. Negative people and people who constantly argue with you or try to make you feel bad, simple...lose them.
I was helping someone get their site up about two years ago. I had spent alot of time on the site. A lot of time on articles and indexing and reviews and building up a fan base....it was taking too long for the person in question because it had to be done "today". I tried to explain that these changes would benefit them but they simply couldn't see what it was I was doing for them and then they got nasty. So I simply gave them their info back and said good luck. The sad part was I spent the next few days canceling press releases, removing articles from several directories, canceling over two hundred social media profiles I had created and even had to email future customer's that I was no longer on board and they could contact the person directly. The site still looks the same and still has the potential to be an extremely profitable site. Last I checked it had a page rank of three. That's huge. Too bad the owner refuses to have the site revamped properly.
My final thought: anyone who tells you a blog will never make you money is an ABSOLUTE IDIOT. If you don't have a blog you don't have a business.
Blogs are listed and google loves them when built properly.
