O.J. Simpson appeals conviction. This just in

O.J. Simpson, O.J. Simpson appeals convictionO.J. Simpson's lawyers appealed his conviction to the Nevada Supreme Court, claiming his trial was "fundamentally unfair." This happened Tuesday.

O.J. Simpson is appealing his conviction for charges involving kidnapping and armed robbery.

A jury in October 2008 convicted the 61 year old O.J. Simpson on charges including armed robbery and kidnapping.

He was sentenced that December to serve a term of up to 33 years in prison, with eligibility for parole after nine years. Seems fair to me but I am not a lawyer.

They filed a whopping 47 page brief on Tuesday in Nevada and they (O.J.'s lawyers) are accusing Clark County, Nevada, District Judge Jackie Glass of judicial misconduct. The reason is that according to them her behaviour was egregious and prejudiced to the point that in laymans terms she swayed the jury...or something like that ;).

The file also alleges the following:

The judge inflicted herself into the trial proceedings.

Issued improper jury instructions

Improperly admitted hearsay evidence and refused to allow defense attorneys to fully cross-examine witnesses

Sounds pretty harsh to me. They better be able to prove it. Doesn't seem like a wise career move to go after a lawyer. WOW!

It was surprising however that Simpson's conviction came in October, the 3rd to be more exact which marked 3 the 13th anniversary of his controversial acquittal in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman.

He was accused of trying to get back sports memorabilia items which O.J. Simpson claimed belonged to him from dealers Bruce Fromong and Al Beardsley.

The six men confronted the men at a Casino in Las Vegas on September 13, 2007, brandishing weapons but they didn't fire them.

Four of the men testified against Simpson, (plea perhaps) while Stewart stood trial alongside him. The four received probation in exchange for their testimony; Stewart received a sentence similar to Simpson's, but will be eligible for parole in seven and a half years.

Good luck on this one. How many times can he get away with things.

This is just my opinion but well.....let the lawyers sort it out. Personally I hope he doesn't even get parole. Just my thoughts.
