Okay seriously, when I first started blogging, around 2004 I wasn't and am still not in it for the money. I have this blog for several reason's:
To share my thoughts.
To get out new information.
To meet worldwide folks.
To be part of something.
To name but a few...
A great way to blog is to share your thoughts and idea's via your blog and then sending them out to article directories or social websites etc. The main problem is that there are alot of folks out there who use article directories and social sites (like Facebook) to simply get people to a site and hope they will click on something and then there are folks who use these Web 2.0 places to legitimately send traffic to help people with other pertinent information and those folks, which include myself are going to be DAMN happy with what I am about to report.
Ezine Articles is changing their guidelines and changing the way writer's get published.
Before, you could write some dubious article, usually about 250 words and almost be guaranteed to get published on Ezine Articles. Now, finally there is talk that articles must be professionally written and must have substance and also must be worthy of the (possible) new guidelines, the scary part for me at least is that these guidelines might also be retroactive, meaning if your present articles are not worthy they may also get axed. As I said before I used to do the same thing so I may very well lose a few articles and in all honesty I am both scared and happy with that.
Scared because I may lose some Google Juice but happy because it forces me to give more when I write which benefits both myself (improves my writings) and the reader's (they get more than they may have).
All in all a good thing.
So to those of you out there who have read my articles and or my blog, please be advised of these possible changes and also keep in mind that if Ezine Articles performs these guideline changes then it only makes sense that other reputable online article directories may follow suit.
In conclusion, embrace these changes and guidelines for several reason:
It improves your writing.
It gives your reader's more.
Finally, maybe, just maybe it will get rid of the writer's who don't take the time to perform spell chekc (notice that) and grammar and offer any real value.
I may lose a few articles and I hope I do, it will only improve my writing and my professionalism.
Oh and if you don't mind, if you like this would you please retweet or stumble this post, I would appreciate it.
