The End of an Era. The End of a decade

As 2009 slowly ends and 2010 begins...well depending on where you are in the world. It is a time to reflect and be proud of what you have accomplished. Set some new goals perhaps. I don't do New Year's Resolutions ... not since I was very young simply because it is a novelty, it is nothing I ever took seriously. I set goals.

Granted it is sort of the same thing but the English language is tricky. The words we use determine the outcome in my opinion.

Any hoo I figured I would do a little list of some sites to help increase traffic and awareness for my blog and then I thought to myself, self...let's share it.

So here it is: Enjoy.

Great internet tips for 2010

For blogger's here are a few awesome things to use for 2010.

There is always social sites like :

Facebook and well...Facebook ....lol ...but there is also twitter and many more, have a look see:

Advogato        Free and open source software developers

Amie Street     Music

My Opera     Blogging, mobile blogging, sharing photos, connecting with friends. Global.

MouthShut.com     Social Network, social media, consumer reviews

Bebo     General.

Blogster     Blogging service that lets users "add friends" or establish business connections to their profiles.

Buzznet     Music and pop-culture

Eons.com     For baby boomers (huge market potential here folks)

imeem     Music, Video, Photos, Blogs

Plurk     Micro-blogging, RSS, updates. Very popular in Taiwan. (I just joined awhile back, still like it tho)

ReverbNation.com     Social network for musician and bands

StumbleUpon     Stumble through websites that match your selected intrests.

Tagged     General. Subject to quite some controversy about its e-mail marketing and privacy policy.

TalentTrove     Online Talent Network

Talkbiznow     Business networking

Tumblr     General. Micro-blogging, RSS

Xanga     Blogs and "metro" areas

Xt3     Catholic social networking, created after World Youth Day 2008

Yelp, Inc.      Local Business Review and Talk

All in all these sites will certainly help you achieve several things.

The main thing you will find is more friends to network with, let's face it folks, the more business minded friends we have equals the greater our success(es) and the greater our action(s).

Obviously all of these sites will help you get a boost in traffic, which is nice, however there is a downside.

If you aren't proactive in keeping your profiles up to date or keeping yourself an active community member sooner than later people will stop paying close attention to you and trhat wonderful traffic will stop.

Build relationships and friendships and amazingly enough everything else simply falls into place.

But first...

Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

Please retweet or stumble this post, I would appreciate it.
