How to make a Christmas center piece.
I was browsing through Walmart and Zeller's and a few other store's in the last hour and was quite literally shocked at the price of Christmas center piece's...in truth, not only were they over priced (in my opinion) they were also ugly. Not to Festive for my style.
So I thought hey, let's do a post on how to make a Christmas center piece. I have never done this myself, but when you live with a scrap booker and an incredibly creative woman (in this case ;)) you learn a few things.
So to do it takes about 30 minutes, not to time consuming at all.
Here is what you need for a Christmas center piece.
1 full length mirror, with or without gold frame, that depends on your theme.
At least two boxes of rock salt.
Between 12 and 24 medium sized round Christmas ornaments, if you don't know how to make those, we did a post on it the other day and you can read about it HERE
Also, dress it up a bit and add some small Christmas ornaments as well, the more the better.
Some flower's that are of the Festive style. Poinsettia's are the norm but hey, dress it up with your own personal touch.
Assorted white candles, red and green, any size will do...again chose them based on your own theme and personality.
1 Spool of gold or silver wired craft ribbon.
Place your mirror in center of table.
Place your candles on top of the mirror with the large one's in the most prominent place and work your way outwards.
Next is to pour the rock salt on the mirror.
Covering most, but not all of the base of the mirror.
Get creative with the salt, keeping it in a snowy theme around the outer part of the mirror.
Wrap the ribbon around some of the larger pillar candles and tie into a loose bow.
Scatter it creatively with the flower blooms.
Last step, jumble up the ornaments creatively and place them in a "hold" fashion and light your candles.
You now have a beautiful Christmas center piece and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Please retweet or stumble this post, I would appreciate it.
