Is your blog or website optimized for Bing?
We all know that Google is King of the internet. The Big "G" is the main place for search online. Having said that I think there are a few people out there in internet land that have completely walked away or shy away from Bing. Which is Microsoft's new search engine Bing. (I hope Microsoft doesn't mind me using the logo)
So why is Bing so important you ask? You know you did ;) Here is my personal take on the situation.
Bing, more importantly Microsoft has set the wheel's in motion for a partnership with Yahoo, and that is huge.
You see, more and more people are beginning to like the new feature's and cool way that Bing operates.
A few reason's are:
When you go to Bing, it is colorful and cheerful, it makes you smile. Don't believe me, then take a look at it.
Bing offer's a search history. I love this.
What is search history?
It simply allows you to click on Search History located at the left side of the screen, upper left side and then will return to your past searches, if you so desire. This option will show any the words/phrases you have searched for and more importantly the sites you may visited. The really cool part is that with a simple click you have the option to turn the search history on and off whenever you please.
Here are a couple of ways to help you get a higher listing in Bing:
1. For some reason, Bing loves older domain names. This is great for seasoned internet sites but a little harder for newbies. If you have a really new site then maybe you might want to consider buying an expired domain name. You can buy expired domain names from pretty much any reputable Domain Hosting Company out there. Just do a search.
2. Titles are important. The better the title the better chance of ranking, it is true that this is the case with all search engines but you probably will have a much better chance at ranking higher with the new Bing search engine for a specific keyword or tag than in Google. It just stands to reason.
3. Text actually matters, the more words you have on your site the more Bing will love you. I am not really sure why, it is what it is. Try for at least 500 or higher, personal thought.
4. Links are more favorable with Bing than they are with Google, especially outbound links....I can't see that lasting long however, use it while you can.
Final note:
The only thing with Bing that I don't like compared to Google is that Google has the "show options" and that is a very powerful tool for blogger's, when used properly.
All in all, I use them both depending on what I am looking for. No offense to Google but there are specific searches I would rather do on Bing, I have my reason's and I will not share them, sorry.
I love them both, just my thoughts on Bing.
Now, go and make sure your blog or website is properly optimized so you can use Bing to it's fullest.
Best
