Here is a very informative post for my friends in the realm of online marketing.
Enjoy it and grab a pen and paper, you might need it :)
Top 10 search engine rankings. Everybody wants it but a few achieve it. Search engines have always been an important source of traffic for many marketers. Achieving high search engine rankings should be one of your goals because it can be profitable in the long run.
But what is it that prevent some people from obtaining their coveted rankings?
It's true that some years ago, getting high rankings was very easy. You could just set up a site, heavily optimize it on the page itself and bam, you can appear in the top listings quickly and easily.
Nowadays, this has totally changed. It is becoming more and more difficult to secure and even maintain good rankings on the major search engine result pages(SERPs) like Google and Yahoo. Some of the reasons are:
(1) Competition
There is more and more competition. More and more websites are popping out everyday and everyone is trying to promote their websites, hence increasing pages and websites in the SERPs. An example, Google has more than 8 billion pages now in its index.
(2) Search Engine Algorithm Change
With the search engine algorithm changing, it can become more complex to figure out how to get top rankings or maintain your existing ones.
(3) Search Engines Are More Severe
Doing any foolish mistake with your site can be costly. You should be careful what you are doing when promoting your site. For eg, you can have hidden text or links on your site without you knowing and you can be penalized.
If it's not a mistake, you could be linking to websites that aren't good anymore, hence devaluing your site.
What should you do? Well, you can't do anything about competition neither algorithm change but you need to monitor who you link to and ensure that your site is clean everytime. And above all, links on as many similar and related sites are still highly valuable to get top rankings and you should constantly get them regularly because that's the core building block of good placement in the SERPs no matter what and to outrank your competition, that's what you should do. And you can be sure that good quality links will still be important in every algorithm change.
Here are top 2 ways to get links to your site and higher rankings in major search engines:
(1) Reciprocal Links
It's being said that reciprocal links are decreasing in value but still though, they are worth getting. If you are exchanging links with sites which are of similar or related topics, it can do you more good than harm. So don't stop getting these type of links. A link is a link and it will benefit you in many ways you can imagine. A link will not only help you in better search engine placement but you will get traffic from that link alone.
I know that because I get lots of traffic from my link partners alone. If you can get one on the homepage, it's even better. So don't underestimate reciprocal linking. They still work. Many sites with high search engine positioning have reciprocal links to them, so they are still of great value. The web is simply a network of websites linking to each other in a way. Links are what form the internet.
(2) One-way Links
On the other hand, one-way links are best because they are independent votes. Other websites link to you without linking back. Well these type of links are harder to get.
Some good ways to get them are:
(i) Build a useful site and allow others to link to you freely by providing them with the necessary materials like text links or banners. Text links are better because you can include your targeted keywords in them. Some people will even link to you just because your site has good content and will find a way to link to you usually just by taking your homepage title. I've seen that.
(ii) Buy some text advertising on other quality related sites. This will give you traffic and automatically benefit you in your rankings.
(iii) Write articles of interest to your audience and submit them to other websites which accept articles. In your author bylines, you have a link to your site. Well this will certainly help your traffic, link popularity and rankings. But to boost your rankings better, check out section (iv) which reveals how use the article marketing strategy to get one-way inbound links with your targeted keyword in your anchor text.
(iv) Create a section on your site allowing others to re-publish your articles. Provide them with the exact html code so that they can just copy and paste that code on their sites easily. Don't forget to mention that the article and author bio should not be modified in any way if it's used. Hence by facilitating their tasks, you can be sure to get your articles distributed on the web much more faster.
In your author bylines, be sure to put an anchor text with your targeted keyword in the link to your site. This is how an author bylines can be extremely beneficial for your rankings. This is not just a url but a keyword targeted url. Imagine your reprint article page gets decent traffic, you increase your chances to get some people interested to re-publish your work on the net. With time, you will boost your link popularity and get higher rankings.
Well you work hard to produce quality content and it can pay itself many times over. One article can be published on hundreds of websites and if your url is automatically coded with an anchor text containing your targeted keyword, you will have 100 one-way keyword-rich inbound links. Now what's the value of that? I let you figure it out.
Getting high search engine rankings takes time, work and patience but if you are serious about your business and you are here to stay for long, you should devote some of your time everyday doing some search engine promotion. In the long run, you are going to reap the rewards of your on-going work.

Kutner Commits Suicide on "House"
Well, if you watch House (the TV Series) you were more than shocked last night with the death of Kutner. Here is an in depth look at the show.
This week on House, the team labored to stay focused on a case while reeling from a tragedy that hit very close to home.
The episode started with a man (guest star Meat Loaf Aday) who for all intents and purposes was on his death bed, even to the point that loved ones were paying their final respects. "I never got you to Rio," he tells his wife with his last breaths. But suddenly, his wife Charlotte gasps, chokes and starts to collapse. This prompts the husband, Eddie, to rise up and plead (best he can) for help.
House's team, save for an MIA Kutner, gathers to review Charlotte's unusual case as well as Eddie's inexplicable recovery. House scoffs at talk that the husband is actually on the mend, countering, "He just had an adrenaline surge when he saw his chance to hit the singles market."
The wife rebounds. And then ails again. The husband grows able to stand. What is going on?
Foreman and Thirteen visit Kutner's apartment, but there's no answer. (As Remy puts it, "House didn't ask us to find out where he wasn't.") So they go inside, and find their colleague.
Dead. In the bedroom. Shot in the head. By his own hand.
House, as much as he does with the most complex of medical case, is anxious for answers about Kutner's suicide. "He didn't say anything ... to any of you?" he asks/accuses the team (aka the "idiots who worked along side him 80 hours a week hadn't seen this coming").
Thirteen trots out data about how 25 percent of suicides exhibit no signs of depression; House suggests those 25 percent simply had oblivious friends. Ouch.
Cuddy reaches out to House, who maintains he's "fine, despite what Wilson will say." Did he spy any clues? "I know [Kutner's] fantasy football team cratered," House quips. "I figured he'd have been over that."
"I'm sorry for your loss," Cuddy says. "It's not mine," deflects House. Cuddy: "Then I'm sorry you don't think it is."
House's quiet anguish/frustration surfaces again when the team (minus Taub, who says he feels "pity, yes" but not "guilt") visits the couple who adopted Kutner after his parents were shot dead in front of him as a youth. House suggests that Lawrence couldn't deal with not being who he was, a Choudhurry, instead "hiding" behind an Anglo name. Before he is kicked out by the outraged Kutners, he leaves.
Back at the hospital, House notes that Taub didn't ask about the visit with the parents. Taub says he doesn't buy that suicide is always a cry for help. "It's a good thing you got some [help]," House tells Taub, who failed his own suicide, "or you might've tried again and gotten it right."
Working the medical mystery, House determines that after her initial collapse, Charlotte faked her illness, to hold onto Eddie. Apparently, we will learn, she loves him more than he has ever demonstrably loved her. But when Charlotte's leg atrophies, House's theory is tossed.
Yet House is far more greatly vexed by the mystery of Kutner's death. Cuddy suggests that he's so hurt because Kutner was the team member most like House. "If he thought like me," says House, "he'd know that living in misery sucks marginally less than dying in it." Cuddy beseeches Wilson to step in, saying House "needs a friend." Wilson hesitates, until he learns of the outburst at the Kutners' home.
"It's OK not to be OK," Wilson tells House, finding him at Kutner's apartment. Turning CSI, House observes that Kutner was open about his pain as a stranger in a strange land/family, hanging photos of both "the good and the bad." When Wilson claims that House doesn't so much care about Kutner as he is frustrated to not solve the mystery of the suicide, House says that Lawrence didn't kill himself — "He was murdered."
Back with the medical case, Charlotte tells the team her heart is Eddie's if she goes first. Not content with the "if" in that thought, she steals some drugs and shoots herself up with enough god-knows-what to collapse and seize on the floor. That ultimately leads to House's "a-ha" moment.
Meanwhile, Thirteen aka Remy Hadley finds and reaches out to an AWOL Foreman, but he hurts her by insisting that, as always, he prefers to work through pain/difficult things on his own. Dejected, Thirteen walks away.
House asks "incurable romantic" Cameron to get Eddie to consent to dying on the table in the name of donating his whole liver to his wife; Charlotte, though, can't be in on the jig. Flying in the face of the song title "I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)," Eddie agrees to that plan, only to have Cam get cold feet when she observes that he might not actually be dying!
House tells Eddie his heart failure is in fact curable, but he still wants to die for his wife. "You'd rather trade the certainty you'll live for the uncertainty that she will?" House asks. Eddie says one way or another, he will end his life to (maybe) save Charlotte's.
Taub finds a fix to the situation by telling Charlotte the truth about "the plan," infuriating Eddie ... and spiking a fever in Charlotte. House confronts Charlotte about her beach trip to "Hawaii," and she confesses she in fact strayed on her husband to have the Rio escape she had always wanted but never got.
As most of the team readies for Kutner's funeral, Wilson again talks to House. You're in pain, because you never saw it coming, Wilson notes. Also, he suggests, House's sadness is not about missing any signs but why he missed them. Is he losing his gift of observation?
As Kutner is ceremonially cremated and the pyre burns, as "Foreteen" find each other again, and as Taub breaks down privately at the hospital, House takes one final pass at Kutner's apartment. He scans through photos until he finds one which might behold the simple explanation. No, Kutner wasn't planning some vengeance on his parents' killer or anything of the sort.
He was just a depressed young man.
Some memorable lines and one odd moment:
• "I thought maybe Kutner was nursing the rib you broke when you elbowed your way in for credit on the last patient."
• What was with the pageant girl who got drunk on mouthwash? Standalone scene, or leading into something coming up? "Gotta be perrrrfect."
• When Thirteen says "no" to forcing the liver transplant: "It's really not fair to have that much subtext in one syllable."
• "Did you deduce that while removing your sunglasses to the strains of a Who song?"
House fans, what did you think of this very dense episode? Were you utterly shocked to see Kutner be the rumored loss to the team? How do you think the show handled the thorny issue of suicide?

Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty
Yup you read that right! The pathetic rapper who thinks its okay to beat up women has pleaded NOT GUILTY....
Brown was charged last month with the two felony charges – assault with force likely to produce great bodily harm and making criminal threats — for an incident on February 8, where he allegedly beat up Rihanna while driving. He faces a potential four years and eight months if convicted on the two counts.
Dozens of paparazzi and of course real journalists (sorry TMZ - is the most reliable news source for celebs oput there, shameless plug for all my friends there hehe) packed the courthouse for Brown’s second hearing regarding his "alleged" beating of super star / singer Rihanna.
Apparently before entering the court, Chris's lawyer, Mark Geragos was t5rying to get a plea deal in place.....no glove in this case.....come on.
Seriously, what a great message for young kids eh?
If you get beat by a guy go back to him, well, in all fairness noone knows if he and Rihanna are back together...God I hope she has more sense than that.
And Chris Brown is telling kids hey if you do a crime say you didn't....well let a jury sort it out I guess.
All I know is I don't believe he was defending himself against Rihanna and I do believe he hit her.
This is simply my personal opinion I wasn't there, but I have seen the photo's of her....who hasn't?
If he was a real man, he would fess up and take his punishment, nut like a true coward he won't.
His parents have got to be soo very proud...NOT.
An ironic twist would be if he did time and it was in the jail his father is a guard in. ROFLMAO
Brown is due back in court on April 29.
How to Repair Bad Credit in 8 Simple Steps
Lately I have been getting themed emails and question's on credit and working from home. This is an article I wrote a long time ago and am re-issuing to answer the question on credit repair.
As for working from home, just look around here, there are several ways to make money quickly and easily.
Credit Repair simplified:
Here is STEP 1: Read your credit report to discover what things are listed on the report that have led to your bad credit rating in the first place.
STEP 2: If you note inaccuracies on your credit report, you'll need to dispute those with the individual creditors reporting them. You can't dispute accurate information even if it does reflect poorly on your credit report, but you can make repairs and improve your credit.
STEP 3: Contact individual creditors and ask if they're willing to work with you to create a repayment plan you can afford, but also assures the creditor of your intent to repay the debt owed them.
STEP 4: Contact your credit card companies and ask for a reduction in the interest rate applied to your credit cards. Some may not be willing, but many credit card companies are willing to do so for cardholders. Use the reduction of interest applied to a credit card account to pay the debt you have on it down faster.
STEP 5: Gather pay stubs and statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual bills (utilities, phone, mortgage, home insurance, retirement account contributions) and create a budget to keep from spending beyond what you actually bring in. You'll also find ways to spend less and use those savings to pay on the debts causing you bad credit
STEP 6: Maxed-out credit cards? Barely able to make the minimum payments on them? Stop using them! Hide them away in a drawer so they won't tempt you to use them and add even more debts to them.
STEP 7: Contact a credit counseling service if your debts are so large that you cannot make regular payments on all of them. A credit counseling service can help you create a plan of action to take care of the debts that are responsible for your bad credit. They can often times speak to your creditors and get you reduced rates and extended payments plans as well.
STEP 8: Apply for a bank sponsored debit or prepaid credit card. As you use this for purchases and make regular payments, you will slowly rebuild bad credit into good credit.
No matter how bad a credit problem may be, it can either get better or worse. In many cases much, much worse. Almost everyone has had credit issues at one time or another in their lifetime. The fact is that our credit rating has a very large effect on our every day lives. Always remember that the better your credit becomes the more money you can and most certainly will save on a variety of things such as; mortgage rates, credit card interest, car payments to name but a few.
Stick to a budget and both you and your credit will be happier for it. Good luck.

We were Soldiers - A tribute
We were soldiers was and is a great movie. In my opinion it is the best movie Mel Gibson has had anything to do with.
It is a true story adapted from the book by Lt. Col. Harold Moore (ret.) and journalist Joseph Galloway, A painful memory of the soldiers in Vietnam, its own crop of American heroes.
The often cynical Hollywood treatment of the war was not shown thanks to writer-director Randall Wallace who does a great job focusing on the commitment of soldiers from North Vietnam to the enemy, in November 1965. Moore (played with shades of colors by Mel Gibson) and nearly 400 police officers of the U. S. Inexperienced Air Cavalry were surrounded by 2000 soldiers of the Army of North Vietnam, and the film recreates the brutal gun battle with graphic authenticity, while telling the parallel story of grieving army women . While UPI reporter Galloway (Barry Pepper) risks his life to chronicle the battle, Wallace offers a balanced (though somewhat fictionalized) perspective while the praise comes from an excellent casting performance. As the best dramas of World War II years of 1940, we paid tribute to the brave soldiers of men, avoiding the pitfalls of propaganda.
If you haven't seen it I strongly suggest you do, if not for a no holds barred look at Vietnam, then watch it out of respect for the brave men and women who fought and died in that war.....and all wars.

Is Rihanna Back to Herself?
Rihanna's "Back to Herself Again" - according to her dad.It seems that Rihanna has been doing some extensive travel these days, she has been jet setting as they say, she has returned home to Barbados on Friday. She is helping her grandparents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary....I love hearing about marriages lasting soo long, it's nice to see and hear.
Her dad said they'll "probably do lunch" during her weekend trip home.
"Of course, I'm happy to have her home. Things are good with her," Fenty told Us. "She is doing really, really well. She's back to herself again."
It is still unknown if she will be in court on Monday for Chris Brown's arraignment, he is expected to enter a plea to two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats after allegedly beating Rihanna Feb. 8 in L.A.
They seemed so happy back in the day....but once a woman beater always a woman beater. Personally any product that uses him for commercials etc I will never buy again. He is a scum bag and he knows it.Earlier this week, Rihanna's lawyer Donald Etra dismissed reports that she is being uncooperative with prosecutors.
"She will do everything that the law requires her to do," Etra told Us. "Nothing has changed."

Shamwow Guy Arrested for punching who?
SHAMWOW - SHAMPOW
I guess she didn't wipe with his product ;) - Okay bad joke.
Vince Shlomi is best known as the ShamWow and Slap Chop Guy, the headset wearing successful infomercial guru who has been peddling his wares of absorbent towels and food choppers. Well, Last month Shlomi went and got himself arrested on a felony battery charge after punching a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room for biting his tongue and not letting go.
Last month, Shlomi, reportedly got himself into a messy situation with a hooker at a hotel. He was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room.

According to police reports, on February 7th, Shlomi, 44, punched the lady of the night for biting him he claimed he met Sasha Harris, 26, at a Miami nightclub. He then took her back to his hotel room in the Setai hotel, where the police report says he claims to have paid her $1,000 after she "propositioned him for straight sex."
SHAM-WOW has a whole new meaning now doesn't it....how many will it take to clean this up hehe.

What are seven ways to save money and help my future?
It is no secret that the money to can drive anyone totally nuts: We all want and need it.We all have bills to pay, children to raise, yes, the pleasure to have.;)
Even in good times money always seems to be "tight" for most people.
What do you need to know to prioritize your spending and manage your money?
Priority No. 1: The payment of your invoices
Obviously you need a roof over your head and food in the refrigerator. But if you don't plan ahead you may find yourself in a very bad situation.
Priority 2: Save $ 500
Just a few hundred dollars in the bank can be expensive but it covers the costs of emergencies, without revealing your credit card debt.
It's a security blanket, even if it's only a small one.
Priority 3: Start by saving for retirement
Simple, remember the Golden Rule: 10 percent is yours to keep. So ":keep it in the bank", compound interest is a beautiful thing.
Priority No. 4: Pay-off 'toxic' debt
It is now time to deal with your credit card bills and other dangerous debt, stop going to payday loan places. NOW!!!
Priority 5: Strengthen your emergency
With so much unemployment, plan ahead, plan ahead....oh yeah...PLAN AHEAD.
Priority No. 6: Departure term disability insurance
Talk to your financial advisor, get this done asap.
Priority 7: Increase your retirement
Remember the Golden Rule - 10 percent people, 10 percent per check is yours to keep..
We tend to forget that we are only on the invoices, the age or the things that money can buy. Yes, when purchasing a new car or television may be a large one it also quickly loses value. A good savings account grows!
Money is not the root of all evil, boredom is.

Every time I try to help someone I get SCREWED.
Tomorrow is my 37th birthday, last night I was brought out for a birthday dinner and drinks. What was supposed to be a good night became a personal disaster for me as soon as I logged into my computer about an hour ago.
Here's the details.
I went out and had a babysitter watch the youngest, whilst out I left my computer running as I had some downloads going, the usual crap, music etc. So I told the babysitter to go ahead and use the computer.
My mistake.
The jerk went into my programs and thought it would be "cool and helpful" to post things to forums I am and now was a member of.
I got BANNED from forums because this jerk kid wanted to do stuff online and see how things are while I am online.
I have spent the better part of 2 years to establish myself online as credible and honest, now I look like a liar and thief. Guilty of stupidity I had nothing to do with.
These forums are incredibly informative and friendly and now I can't even contact any of them for two reason's:
First, once banned you can wait it out and usually get back in.
Second, jerk boy went through my email after one ban and tried to say he was me and even went so far as to email the person who banned who he thought was me and sent some retarded email.
What an idiot!
Now I have no recourse of action and look like a moron to good people, people I greatly respect and value as mentors.
This is so unfair....Happy God Damn Birthday!! Not!
I should never allow anyone to use my PC. I will never let anyone use it again and will always password the thing so only I can let people immediately around me in.
This is such crap!!
For the record, if any form member's read this please email me or contact me somehow so I can explain myself and the situation.
Moral of the story:
Never let anyone use your computer for anything...it's not worth the risk.
To the forum mod's my apologies for this.

Rapper T.I Sentenced - a lesson learned
This rapper, like so many other young folks made a mistake. Maybe he got caught up in the glamor lifestyle, who knows. He is however a man of integrity in my opinion for doing the right thing. T.I should be applauded for his efforts this past year. He has spoken to kids about leading good lives. He went and talked to troubled youth and very matter of factly pointed out to them that no matter who you are, how much money you have when you break the law you will pay for it.
Here some details of T.I's sentencing and comments made by T.I and others involved in T.I's sentencing.
(Ripped from the web = I didn't write the info below)
A judge has sentenced T.I. to one year and one day in prison for being found guilty of federal weapons charges, a sentence that's in line with the plea deal the MC struck with authorities one year ago. T.I.—his real name Clifford Harris—has 6-8 weeks to turn himself in to prison, and he can whittle his sentence to the under-300-day mark if he's well-behaved while in the pokey. His community-service tour over the last year, which totaled 1,006 hours and included stops at schools and a show on MTV, may result in other offenders being given "experimental" sentences, even if they're not famous! The 27-year-old rapper, clad in a dark suit and black shirt, thanked the judge and prosecutors for giving him the chance to cut his prison time by speaking to youths about the pitfalls of crime, drugs and gangs. He has delivered that message to thousands in recent months.
"It means just as much to me to make you guys proud for what you have done as it does for me to make myself and my family proud," he said at the sentencing hearing in downtown Atlanta.
"I'm a man of integrity. I'm a man of morals, of standards, of principle," the entertainer said.
Pannell said he would not have approved the deal - which includes far less prison time than federal guidelines call for on the weapons charges involved - if U.S. Attorney David Nahmias had not recommeded it.
"I think it's been a good experiment," the judge said. "I've come to resist the lockup mentality that we often find ourselves in… . maybe it will lead to similar experimental sentencings."
Panell also told T.I. directly: "I congratulate you on the year of work you have done so far."
The sentence also includes a $100,000 fine.

Do You Know How to Read a Credit Report - Errors You Don't Know Exist
When looking for your credit report make sure you know how to read it. Since many credit reports contain errors that do not belong there, and may not be accurate representation of your credit score, it is necessary to analyze the information at least once every few months.
It is not a good idea to rely on just one credit report provider either. Any person, that has a social security number has a credit history with the three credit reports from major lending institutions. Each of these reports may contain different information, so look for your file from Equifax, Experian and Trans Union.
After hearing your report or viewing it. There are four main areas to watch. First, it is your personal information. This area will list your name, address, Social Security number, employer and previous addresses and employers. It may also contain the name of your spouse.
Below is a list of all your accounts, open or closed during the past seven years. Together, these accounts show any amount of payment(s) on time or late, the amount of money you borrow, the average monthly payment, as far as excellence, and the current account balance. This is an area that you are willing to pay more attention to because it is common to the accounts, which in reality never existed.
The third revision to read your credit rating for this list of public records. This includes solutions, tax relief, bankruptcy, Repossessions and executions. Everything in this area is poor, regardless of whether the information is accurate or not, should efforts to remove these files.
The last section is a list of questions about your account. In other words, this is a list of all the companies withdrew their loans, and is divided into soft and hard research surveys.
Get your credit report by clicking the link at the top of this post.
Be sure, be safe.

Man, I didn't want to do this.....AIG I QUIT says exec
An AIG executive who received a bonus over $740,000 after taxes, resigned publicly -- in an Op-Ed column in the New York Times.
Jake DeSantis, an executive vice president at American International Group Inc's Financial Products division, said on Wednesday that he was leaving the company and would donate his entire bonus to charity.
Here is DeSantis letter as published in the New York Times:
DEAR Mr. Liddy,
It is with deep regret that I submit my notice of resignation from A.I.G. Financial Products. I hope you take the time to read this entire letter. Before describing the details of my decision, I want to offer some context:
I am proud of everything I have done for the commodity and equity divisions of A.I.G.-F.P. I was in no way involved in -- or responsible for -- the credit default swap transactions that have hamstrung A.I.G. Nor were more than a handful of the 400 current employees of A.I.G.-F.P. Most of those responsible have left the company and have conspicuously escaped the public outrage.
After 12 months of hard work dismantling the company -- during which A.I.G. reassured us many times we would be rewarded in March 2009 -- we in the financial products unit have been betrayed by A.I.G. and are being unfairly persecuted by elected officials. In response to this, I will now leave the company and donate my entire post-tax retention payment to those suffering from the global economic downturn. My intent is to keep none of the money myself.
I take this action after 11 years of dedicated, honorable service to A.I.G. I can no longer effectively perform my duties in this dysfunctional environment, nor am I being paid to do so. Like you, I was asked to work for an annual salary of $1, and I agreed out of a sense of duty to the company and to the public officials who have come to its aid. Having now been let down by both, I can no longer justify spending 10, 12, 14 hours a day away from my family for the benefit of those who have let me down.
You and I have never met or spoken to each other, so I'd like to tell you about myself. I was raised by schoolteachers working multiple jobs in a world of closing steel mills. My hard work earned me acceptance to M.I.T., and the institute's generous financial aid enabled me to attend. I had fulfilled my American dream.
I started at this company in 1998 as an equity trader, became the head of equity and commodity trading and, a couple of years before A.I.G.'s meltdown last September, was named the head of business development for commodities. Over this period the equity and commodity units were consistently profitable -- in most years generating net profits of well over $100 million. Most recently, during the dismantling of A.I.G.-F.P., I was an integral player in the pending sale of its well-regarded commodity index business to UBS. As you know, business unit sales like this are crucial to A.I.G.'s effort to repay the American taxpayer.
The profitability of the businesses with which I was associated clearly supported my compensation. I never received any pay resulting from the credit default swaps that are now losing so much money. I did, however, like many others here, lose a significant portion of my life savings in the form of deferred compensation invested in the capital of A.I.G.-F.P. because of those losses. In this way I have personally suffered from this controversial activity -- directly as well as indirectly with the rest of the taxpayers.
I have the utmost respect for the civic duty that you are now performing at A.I.G. You are as blameless for these credit default swap losses as I am. You answered your country's call and you are taking a tremendous beating for it.
But you also are aware that most of the employees of your financial products unit had nothing to do with the large losses. And I am disappointed and frustrated over your lack of support for us. I and many others in the unit feel betrayed that you failed to stand up for us in the face of untrue and unfair accusations from certain members of Congress last Wednesday and from the press over our retention payments, and that you didn't defend us against the baseless and reckless comments made by the attorneys general of New York and Connecticut.
My guess is that in October, when you learned of these retention contracts, you realized that the employees of the financial products unit needed some incentive to stay and that the contracts, being both ethical and useful, should be left to stand. That's probably why A.I.G. management assured us on three occasions during that month that the company would "live up to its commitment" to honor the contract guarantees.
That may be why you decided to accelerate by three months more than a quarter of the amounts due under the contracts. That action signified to us your support, and was hardly something that one would do if he truly found the contracts "distasteful."
That may also be why you authorized the balance of the payments on March 13.
At no time during the past six months that you have been leading A.I.G. did you ask us to revise, renegotiate or break these contracts -- until several hours before your appearance last week before Congress.
I think your initial decision to honor the contracts was both ethical and financially astute, but it seems to have been politically unwise. It's now apparent that you either misunderstood the agreements that you had made -- tacit or otherwise -- with the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, various members of Congress and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo of New York, or were not strong enough to withstand the shifting political winds.
You've now asked the current employees of A.I.G.-F.P. to repay these earnings. As you can imagine, there has been a tremendous amount of serious thought and heated discussion about how we should respond to this breach of trust.
As most of us have done nothing wrong, guilt is not a motivation to surrender our earnings. We have worked 12 long months under these contracts and now deserve to be paid as promised. None of us should be cheated of our payments any more than a plumber should be cheated after he has fixed the pipes but a careless electrician causes a fire that burns down the house.
Many of the employees have, in the past six months, turned down job offers from more stable employers, based on A.I.G.'s assurances that the contracts would be honored. They are now angry about having been misled by A.I.G.'s promises and are not inclined to return the money as a favor to you.
The only real motivation that anyone at A.I.G.-F.P. now has is fear. Mr. Cuomo has threatened to "name and shame," and his counterpart in Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal, has made similar threats -- even though attorneys general are supposed to stand for due process, to conduct trials in courts and not the press.
So what am I to do? There's no easy answer. I know that because of hard work I have benefited more than most during the economic boom and have saved enough that my family is unlikely to suffer devastating losses during the current bust. Some might argue that members of my profession have been overpaid, and I wouldn't disagree.
That is why I have decided to donate 100 percent of the effective after-tax proceeds of my retention payment directly to organizations that are helping people who are suffering from the global downturn. This is not a tax-deduction gimmick; I simply believe that I at least deserve to dictate how my earnings are spent, and do not want to see them disappear back into the obscurity of A.I.G.'s or the federal government's budget. Our earnings have caused such a distraction for so many from the more pressing issues our country faces, and I would like to see my share of it benefit those truly in need.
On March 16 I received a payment from A.I.G. amounting to $742,006.40, after taxes. In light of the uncertainty over the ultimate taxation and legal status of this payment, the actual amount I donate may be less -- in fact, it may end up being far less if the recent House bill raising the tax on the retention payments to 90 percent stands. Once all the money is donated, you will immediately receive a list of all recipients.
This choice is right for me. I wish others at A.I.G.-F.P. luck finding peace with their difficult decision, and only hope their judgment is not clouded by fear.
Mr. Liddy, I wish you success in your commitment to return the money extended by the American government, and luck with the continued unwinding of the company's diverse businesses -- especially those remaining credit default swaps. I'll continue over the short term to help make sure no balls are dropped, but after what's happened this past week I can't remain much longer -- there is too much bad blood. I'm not sure how you will greet my resignation, but at least Attorney General Blumenthal should be relieved that I'll leave under my own power and will not need to be "shoved out the door."
Sincerely,
Jake DeSantis

I'll continue over the short term to help make sure no balls are dropped, but after what's happened this past week I can't remain much longer -- there is too much bad blood. I'm not sure how you will greet my resignation, but at least Attorney General Blumenthal should be relieved that I'll leave under my own power and will not need to be "shoved out the door."
Sincerely,
Jake DeSantis

Wee - Global sales of the Nintendo Wii have passed 50 million
The Wii is currently the fastest selling game console in history, outselling the PlayStation 2.
This is according to company boss Satoru Iwata.
Man, I wish I had of got into that stock a few years back...geez....
Mr. Iwata also stated that he had sent Nintento DS 100 in the world.
"Almost no one expects to reach the current level of general acceptance. It is even beyond what to expect," said Iwata.
"The market has expanded as video games have been accepted by consumers, more than ever," said Nintendo's president, referring to the Game Developers Conference.
More than a third of the games on the Wii were sold last year than in any other platform, he said.
Last year 47% of sales were made by women.

Credit Repair is More Than a Right, It's Your Responsibility
Most Americans and others mistake is to verify the information contained in your credit report can take your credit score. Chances are good that your credit score is lower than it should be. The problem is that there is a chance you are one of the million of North Americans who continue to suffer with an unfair credit score because it will not repair your credit. Most Americans and Canadians want to believe that the credit reporting system, where people earn a bad credit record and there is nothing I can do about it, but to wait seven years. But study after study shows the system of credit often does not work. That is why the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws that protect the consumer has the right to do something - the right to ensure that your credit score is as good as it can be.
So why is that even if everyone has the right to challenge negative items on credit, very few people do? Absolutely not, because you can not understand the importance of a high credit score. After all, he has a genius for discovering the benefits of a good credit score when you can make the difference between paying $ 2500/month and $ 2000/month for the same house.
More likely, the reason why people do not repair their credit is a mixture of apathy and lack of understanding of the system of credit. Too many people assume the credit is a system of official government bureaucracy to an extensive system of checks to ensure that their payment defaults. This can not be further from the truth.
Credit agencies in the system of credit reports are not official bodies. Instead, the big companies for profit that collects personal information from your creditors and make money by selling this information in the form of your credit report.
So now you ask, how do I ensure that the information is correct? If a creditor reports that something is wrong, how the credit agencies to ensure that they do not end up on your credit report?
The answer to both questions is no. Creditors of the information, the registration of credit bureau, and for most people, the story ends there.
Employees of the credit agencies or the government will ensure that your credit report is correct. The way the system is configured, there is only one person who has never bothered to check their credit reports - and that person is you. You're out, and finally the most important piece of the credit.
Make sure your credit score is where it should be, it's your responsibility and repairing your credit report is a task that must begin there, because nobody will do for you.
It is your right and responsibility to dispute questionable negative on your credit report and the sooner you start the better. You can work to repair your credit on your account or you can get help from a law firm, credit repair, such as Lexington Law.
What you try to repair your credit on your own or with the help of an expert on credit repair, take an active role in the system of credit, you can ensure that your credit score is as good as can be and has the advantage of millions of people out there with bad credit who have not taken the measures necessary to do something.

British reality TV show star loses battle with cancer
Jade Goody, a dental assistant who became a reality-TV star whose whirlwind journey from poverty to celebrity to tragedy became a national soap opera and morality tale in the U.K., has passed away last Saturday, she was 27 years of age.Goody gained fame at 21 in 2002, when she joined the reality television show "Big Brother". Loud and brash, she became a highly divisive star — initially mocked as an ignorant slob, then loved for her tenacity.
It was a pattern of praise and condemnation that followed her for the rest of her life. Goody became a national touchstone who sparked debate about race, class and celebrity in Britain.
"She was a courageous woman both in life and death and the whole country have admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children," British Prime Minister Brown said in a statement.
"She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and her family can be extremely proud of the work she has done to raise awareness of cervical cancer which will benefit thousands of women across the U.K."

How do I get free stuff online?
This is a great question I received earlier this week. Most people are understandably afraid of getting free stuff online because usually it involves you giving out your email and or personal information. So, before I go on with a few freebie websites I thought I would give you guys a few tricks I use. Some of you may use these and some of you may not. :)
First and foremost, whenever I find a freebie online I check it's google page rank. If you don't have this feature on your browser tab you can download it here
A websites page rank goes from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best. For example facebook has a high pagerank. I am working on getting mine up there lol, if anyone wants to help me please feel free to make your homepage this site address.....shamesless plug :)
Okay back to the tips and tricks.
The second thing, and probably the most important, is if the site requires me to sign up or give my email addy I give one I hardly use, just to get the info or freebie I want. Always remember that as required byu law all of these sites must give you the option to be removed from their mailing list and the link is almost always at the very bottom of the email and in small, small print, but it's there.
The final trick I use is if it asks for personal information I give it my vitals but put in a bad number so I am not inundated with sales calls. Meaning if it asks for a phone number, and the number is required I put in 999-000-9999, easy enough.
Now for the freebie websites found below:
My personal favorites are and slickdeals.net. Both sites offer forums where people go and post when they have found a freebie offered on the internet.
Myinstantwin.com features just that, instant wins. They compile a list of currently running, instant win promotions and games from company websites.
Online-sweepstakes.com also has the instant win games listed as well as a huge listing of regular sweepstakes. Enter often and regularly and you will win.

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?

What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .....
I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.
I was born here, and so were my parents and grandparents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany , Scotland , England, Ireland , or the Netherlands . The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa. So stop, already! ! !
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap ......... and all of them are in jail.
Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.
We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.
We have millionaire football players who cannot read.
We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.
We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

Sarah Gronert - Man, woman....tennis player. Should she play?
Beautiful, 22-year-old Sarah Gronert, a professional tennis player born and bred in Germany who desperately wants to compete in the woman's tour, has been the victim of sometimes cruel scrutiny because she is no ordinary young woman, the kid was born with both male and female genitalia.Sarah Gronert has found that even though she has a great talent she still must face the cruelty of others. Mainly her coaches and fellow tennis players They are quite insulting of her 'gender', despite the fact that she has been medically certified a woman after having her male "parts" removed, and is doing everything she can to be accepted into the woman's tour.
She has just returned after a three year break from the sport for reason's that are rather obvious; cruelty and jealousy.
"There is no girl who can hit serves like that, not even Venus Williams." a quote made by one coach, who was citing her (Gronert's) strengths and better performance. "Sarah is capable of - that other women cannot achieve", maybe she's just that good. No woman could serve like Venus Williams until Venus Williams......
Sounds pretty unfair to me, maybe this young woman (Gronert) is just that good and the jealous ones are hurting her because of something she has no control over. How she was born is not her fault, it's not like she is secretly taking performance enhancing drugs, and yes it happens even in the sport of Tennis.
She does have an obvious advantage, it's called desire to compete. If she begins to play continuously, within six months she will be within the Top 50. So keep an eye out for her name.

Should you buy a foreclosure?
Make $500,000 in one year! Buy houses for pennies on the dollar! The business of buying foreclosures and pre-foreclosures has never been hotter. The experts will guide you every step of the way to help you get rich quick. Just take a seminar or buy a book and you'll be on easy street in no time.
With foreclosure filings reported on 291,000 U.S. properties in February, up 30% from a year ago, it's easy to entertain visions of buying cheap houses and flipping them for quick profits.
The only trouble is, it's not so simple. New realities are changing the foreclosure business, and the unwary investor can be left in the lurch.
Here's what's changed and what you might want to watch out for:
There may be little or no equity on the table. Dana Mackey used to send 100 letters at a pop to distressed homeowners in the Agoura Hills, Calif., area. He would typically get about a 10% response. Of those, he would be able to work with several families either by carrying paper so they could stay in their homes or by purchasing the homes from them, and he'd make a good profit.
That doesn't work anymore. Most of the houses in trouble in his area are now "underwater" -- people owe more on their homes than the homes are worth. Many homes have $950,000 mortgages but are worth only $700,000 in today's market.
"Before, I was able to help them," says Mackey, of Prosperity4Kids. "Now, they're so far gone that there's nothing you can do. The banks don't want to negotiate. The banks don't want the property back, but they don't want to take the $250,000 hit right now either. And the market keeps dropping." Mackey has stopped sending the letters.

This just in - AIG execs should either resign or commit suicide.

The AIG scandal is getting worse by the day
AIG 0utrage is heating up to the point of being called ridiculous and who can blame everyone after the news of $165 Million dollar bonus scandal currently rocking the Nation and captivating the rest of the world, it's the octo-mom version of politics. Don't do what you can't afford. The President has called the company (and I quote) "reckless and greedy".
Congressional Democrats have quite seriously threatened to tax the bonuses into oblivion, it has caused such a furor that one Republican has even suggested that AIG leaders should own up and take responsibility for the collapse by resigning or killing themselves.
"Obviously, maybe they ought to be removed," said Sen. Charles Grassley during an Iowa City radio interview on Monday. "But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they'd follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide."
Ouch, that's harsh. Seppuku style.
An AIG spokesman responded to Grassley's comments: "The remark is very disappointing, but AIG's employees continue to work with poise and professionalism to take care of policyholders and repay taxpayers."
Grassley later backtracked his comments early Tuesday, saying he would like executives of failed companies to make formal public apologies, as business leaders have done in Japan.
"What I'm expressing here obviously is not that I want people to commit suicide,"
It seems to me that this has gone on way to far and now the US government has quite an issue to address.

Pamela Anderson had a little .......
Treasury to rework AIG aid to recoup bonuses -
This beat's all. It shows the utmost disrespect this company has not only for the monetary aid they have been given but also the disrespect they have for the American people.
In case you don't know the story hear it is in short form, sort of;
AIG was part of the USA Multi-Billion dollar bailut and after receiving this money they are attempting to pay out $165 Million dollars in bonuses.
Bonuses?! Please, it proves the immoral and pathetic leadership of this company. They are the poster business for asking for alot and giving nothing back.
Kudo's to President Obama for arguing the point and already beginning the process of fighting these bonuses he (Obama) said in remarks at the White House he was "choked up with anger" over the executive payments, which is a hot button issue in the deepening recession.
My question is simply this:
Why not take the money bank and let them deal with bankruptcy?
The U.S. government is simply going to modify a planned $30 billion capital injection for American International Group Inc to try to recoup hundreds of millions of dollars in controversial bonuses, a spokesperson for the Treasury said on Monday.
Meanwhile, New York's top legal officer vowed to take AIG to court if it did not provide full details of the bonus payments.

This is just insane, The video of the stampede of Top Model auditions held today in New York. There were 3 arrests and about 6 people injured during the chaos.
Noone is really sure what the riot was about....people must have been getting nervous or razzled about their possible upcoming fame and fortune, seeing as the callout was for shrt woman (5 foot 7) and beng that height there is very little chance of becoming a model without help from a Big Name like Tyra.
It is alleged the riot started by someone calling fire, we'll never know.

Alex Trebek returns home for 'Canada's Next Great Prime Minister'
When I first caught wind of this I was quite shocked, as a Television show, it's a great idea.....it's also not a new idea. I have a young family member who won a debate for the exact same concept a few years back and it was also a $50,000 prize.
Bragging gor my cousin Deirdra but still....it is a great thing to do as it get's youth involved in politics and how things "really" work. Especially with the world the way it is economically, this generation has a lot to do to fix this and make sure we don't ever have another moron for a leader.

I am getting off topic here. I am so fed up with people crying about the economy. Sorry to be blunt folks but this has been in process since a certain Texas door knob learned the word veto.
More importantly if these whiners new how to save money and plan ahead they wouldn't be in the situation. Don't argue that either.
I personaly know a family of 4 who's combined income is $31,000.00
Home (worth $160,000) paid.
Vehicles - 2 both paid.
Furniture and Appliances - paid.
Ages -
Mike - 32
Kathy - 29
Tyler - 5
Heather - 2
If this young family accomplished that in a few years on that little money, I only have one question for the whiners out there.
Do you know how to save......or just drink?
Right now a few of you are really insulted by reading this, aren't you?
Good, remember that sting tonight when you open your pretty empty fridge for that cold one.
Oh yeah, as for Alex Trebek...welcome home. Can't wait to see the show.
I love this quote from Alex:
"I learned a long time ago (from) a producer friend of mine, he says: 'Alex, one of the lessons you've got to learn in show business is never turn down work. It's not a good idea because you don't know if the invitations will keep coming,"' Trebek said recently over the line from his Studio City, Calif., home.
That's right Alex....never turn down work.....a True Canadian.
Bragging gor my cousin Deirdra but still....it is a great thing to do as it get's youth involved in politics and how things "really" work. Especially with the world the way it is economically, this generation has a lot to do to fix this and make sure we don't ever have another moron for a leader.
Our present P.M and past P.M. weren't all bad, they weren't George "The World's Biggest Jerk-off" Bush. Canadians have a better grip on things financially.
We understand how to save, we understand that if we can't afford food...we don't buy booze and/or cigarettes....we understand how to pay our bills.
In this order:
Mortgage / Rent
Utilities
Food
Vehicle
Insurance
Gas
15 percent in savings account
Take care of the kids extra's, i.e future education.
Then treat yourslef

The top websites that will matter the most in 2009
According to a recent reader's choice done by PC World here are the "watch out for" sites of 2009.
I think I am going to bookmark these and do some research on them. Things are changing at a rapid pace and a lot of social networking and blogging sites are arising. There is also email and autoresponder's etc.
Here are the sites:
1. FindingDulcinea - It basically augments current stories with background informaion and analysis.
2. Free Napkin - In a nutshell, it's an Ebay for free stuff, pics and post, pretty simple. I know I will definitely be using this one.
3. Open Proxy Network - For a geek like myself, HEAVEN.....
4. Woopid - Let's you watch training vido's for tech products.....yaay me...lol....
5. Embedr - The name says it all, as I wipe the drool......sorry, Iam a tech nerd.....I just hide it sorta.....
6. TwitR.me - It's a twitter galore app. I expect great things from this, seriously. It's basically a translator for different kinds of messaging.
7. Tweetmeme - Noticing a theme here e tweets ;)
Tweetmeme goes out and reads all of the links on Twitter, determines which ones are the most-clicked, and then categorizes the links based on whether they are links to blogs, videos, images or audio files....awesome!!
8. Busuu - bu-who??? no it's Busuu!! For sure this is going to be a big trend in 2009....

Spring Cleaning the Heart ( and garage)
Spring Cleaning. It is during this time of the year that most folks get out and clean up, the spring cleaning fever that goes through all of us. We feel a need to clean out clutter and reorganize everything in our lives.
For myself, I use it as a way to convince myself that the snow will be gone "tomorrow".....if only, and yes where I live there is still quite a bit of the white stuff.
I actually wasn't even aware that it was called National Cleaning Week (March 22-28). That is in the USA, here in Canada we simply call it what it is Spring Cleaning.
It' funny the differences, the little things....Canadians call a spade a spade as the saying goes, we don't have trumped up names for things, we call them what they are.
This time of year throughout, the world does have one thing in common. The love bug which sweeps through everybody, more so if you're single, not so much if you have just gone through a recent break-up.
Whichever the case, here and now is the time to get out there and meet someone special.
Start socializing. In most places there is a huge need for more volunteers this time of year and a lot of singles meet that way, plus you feel good about community involvement.
Quit blaming the times, a friend of mine is doing that, it's annoying. Going on a date can be a walk in the park, grab a coffee at a cafe. It doesn't have to be a big expense. Personally, if your date is all about you spending your hard earned money on crazy things, re-evaluate and run. Trust me.
Focus on finding someone that matches with you on as many levels as possible and look beneath the surface. Dating someone who is eye candy is great for both men and women, however after awhile the edge goes off because there is nothing in common, or you get tired of explaining everything.
Want to know a great way to gauge a relationship's future? Go shopping. It sounds sill, I know. Try it, you might be surprised.
Ditch all past experiences, they don't matter. You are in the here and now.
Move on.

Is Britney Spears Dating Her Agent?
It seems Britney's pining over K-Fed......no idea why? Really, anyone, anyone??It seems in the buzz world of celeb gossip that she may be dating her agent, 37 year old Jason Trawick.
They have been spotted together quite a bit so who knows. Maybe he is trying to keep her grounded and level-headed, I dunno.
Personally, I can see why the young starlet snapped with her now infamous hairdo and British accent craziness. She is a young woman loved and at the same time hated equally throughout the world. If they are indeed a celeb gossip couple let's hope she finds happiness .... this time.
The gossip world and the blogspot world are slowly becoming a level playground for celebs.
Thanks Rock Star2005 for the photo.
Lindsay Lohan has a warrant out for her!!
Beverly Hills Police have actually issued an arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan.
She is an actrss, singer.....drama queen....etc.
What happened? She went from sweet kid with a promising future, shown at right,
to an out of control wild child with a very dismal future, in my opinion below.
It has been issued from a 2007 drunk driving conviction.
"In response to media inquiries, the Beverly Hills Police Department is confirming a warrant was in fact issued [on Friday] for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan," the police department wrote in a statement, according to Entertainment Tonight.
It's a $50,000 warrant issued by the Beverly Hills Superior Court from a May 2007 arrest of Miss Lohan for Driving Under the Influence and Hit and Run. The circumstances leading to the issuance of the warrant by the court are not available yet. Hopefully she (Lohan) has the brains to surrender herself, otherwise she could face jail time, real jail time.
Police Sgt. Mike Foxen confirmed that the warrant was issued on Friday. He said police had not yet contacted Lindsey Lohan.
Lohan's publicist and lawyer didn't return calls, not really surprising they are probably getting ready for damage control.
Lohan pleaded guilty or no contest to DUI and cocaine charges after crashing her Mercedes into a tree in the Beverly Hills area in 2007 and later chased the mother of a "friend" into Santa Monica in an SUV.
She could go to jail if she violates any terms of her three-year probation, such as failing to have a drug test or meet with her prob officer.
Poor kid has not had an easy life in stardom.

How to write your online dating profile
Okay, good morning. Happy Saturday to you all.
The theme this week is still online dating and young stars...they sort of go hand in hand don't they?
I'll leave that for you to ponder ;)
As you go online there are alot of do's and don'ts and one of the big things is writing your profile. I haven't done one in years and to be honest I left a lot of it blank because of fear at the time. I still don't believe I was afraid of online dating at the start.
But I digress.
Here is a great ebook on how to do just that. Write your profile.
I have to warn you the information is good but there is no need to purchase or go to the site as it will just cost money. Read it and then fill out your info on a free dating site.
Happy Hunting.

Oh yeah, here is the link.

Reese Witherspoon - In a word ... Stunning

Today, one of my favorite actresses, I confess I have had a crush for years ;)
So, her biography to start with.
She was born March 22 1976 ... Hey I was born March 29 1972 ..... like you guys care lol. Back to Reese....
She was born in Nashville
She made her film debut in 1991 in the coming-of-age movie The Man in the Moon. She made an immediate impact on critics and audiences alike, netting widespread praise for her portrayal of a tomboy experiencing love for the first time, she was only 14.
She was still in high school she completed two more feature films, Jack the Bear (1993), starring Danny De Vito, as well as Disney's A Far Off Place (1993), for filming she lived in the Kalahari Desert.
She studied English literature at Stanford University and then returned to film as the abused girlfriend of a psychotic Mark Wahlberg in the thriller Fear (1996), one of my favorite Reese flicks.
It wasn't until 1998 that her career began to take off, with roles in two movies. The first, Twilight (not the monster hit movie now in the news), saw her sharing the screen with Gene Hackman, Susan Sarandon, and Paul Newman. The film didn't do very much, but Pleasantville, her other movie role that year, proved to be winning hit. The actress won wide recognition for her leading role as Tobey Maguire's oversexed sister, and this recognition -- along with critical respect -- increased the following year with another leading role. The incredibly funny movie Election. Starring opposite Matthew Broderick, Witherspoon won accalades for her high-strung portrayal of student-council presidential candidate Tracy Flick. Her character stood in stark contrast to the one Witherspoon subsequently portrayed in Cruel Intentions, enough said. I do believe she met her now real life ex-husband in that movie.
She also had roles in American Psycho in 2000Legally Blonde in 2001.
Sweet Home Alabama in 2002.
Vanity Fair in 2004
Just Like Heaven in 2005
Walk the Line also 2005
She is a young starlet but has a lot to offer us still.
Keep a look out for Reese Witherspoon.
