HTML - How To Make Lots of traffic (trick to the right ;))

Every now and then people ask some stellar questions.

Some of these questions can relate to:

How to get a huge spike in traffic

How to get a blog setup up quickly

How to get 10,000 or more visitors to their blog

Wanna know a few tricks do ya;

Introducing....drum roll please....wait for it, wait for it...

24 very rare and fun ways to attract internet traffic, create a blog and get a shit load of visitors to you blog. Okay maybe more than 24, I just felt like writing 24 lol.

Disclaimer right off the top:

I have used these methods, whether you use them or not is up to you.

I will not show some graph that was obviously made to be a nasty illusion of proof, Christ I despise anyone who uses photo shop or some other program to make unsubstantiated claims.

These may or may not work for you, it's up to you to use them.

Let's start out with traffic.

Internet traffic is a huge problem for most blogger's, it really is. All too often I see folks jump on Facebook or EC (Entrecard) or Squidoo and think they are doing something wrong when they don't get a lot of traffic to their site.

Don't despair my friends, help is here.

First of all you must remember that like anything else, there is safety in numbers, so getting on Facebook may give you a spike for awhile but then again it may not.

Facebook is most certainly the undisputed KING of the Social networking scene but there are many, many others. Need a list of other social networking sites do ya?

Well since you asked so nicely ;) Here ya go.

Quick note, these are both Social Networks and great marketing meet and greet places, some you may have heard of, while other's you may have not, keep in mind that the more you mingle online the more traffic you get BUT more importantly the more friends you make.

Arguably this will take some time but if you aren't willing to put in the time to expand your network and grow your business then you really shouldn't bother reading any further. Success takes time. You must be willing to put the time in.

Alrighty, those are just a few of the online places you can find to help expand. Another neat trick is to go to Alexa...more on that later.
Moving along to setting up a blog. Now it doesn't take a rocket science to set a blog up, if you noticed this blog http://www.needtogetsome.net is a blogger blog redirected to godaddy. I love my blog enough to have given it a real domain name...no offense to those with out one, just my take on the subject. Not to mention there is no excuse anymore. If you can't afford a huge budget you just go to blogger, for example and set a blog up and then go to GoDaddy, for example and for 10 bucks you can get a domain name hosted through GoDaddy and run through blogger. Easy peasy.

If you don't like blogger, there are many other places to get a blog up and running.

According to Mashable, an incredible blog of knowledge and guidance, the reader's of Mashable voted the Top 5 Blog platforms as being:

5. Livejournal
4. Tumblr
3. Posterous
2. Blogger
1. Wordpress

You can read the article here (and you should)

A few other worthy platforms of note are:

Movable Type
Typepad
Drupal
Bricolage
Expression Engine
Okay there are the basics, now I know most of you are wondering How to get 10,000 or more visitors to their blog.

Well, it is not simple but it is definitely doable:

Make friends in the blog community. This is the big thing to do.
Make sure you utilize places like:

Stumbleupon
Digg
Reddit

And other sites like that.

Make sure to comment on other people's blogs. Not just some stupid comment like "Hey great article, thanks for sharing" I gotta be honest here folks anytime I get a comment like that there is zero chance of me posting it because there is no realism to the comment, chances are it is just someone looking for a back link. Not a good way to comment either, if you leave a moronic comment then there are two possible and highly likely outcomes:

First off the chances of the comment being published are next to none

If it is however......

The second thing is that after reading such a boring generic response, the chances are other reader's won't bother checking your blog out.

When leaving comments be cleart, honest and show you read the article. This way whether you agree or disagree with the post you wiull ghet some link love (at the very leasty)

A little trick to get more traffic is to offer people to share stumbles or diggs etc.

Worst way to do it is to buy votes, sooner or later you will get caught and banned. Trust me on this one, I did it when I was new and green to the blogging world.

I would hate to see anyone do the same thing.

Okay.

That is enough for today, you have the basics, now get out there and build your blog.

P.S. Thanks to Alpha_Male from Photobucket for the pic.

Please retweet or stumble this post, I would appreciate it.
